“There is no consciousness without discrimination of opposites.”
–Carl Gustav Jung
Holding the tension of the opposites is an integrative concept coined by eminent Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung in the 1950s, offering an opportunity for people to discover what Jung referred to as the Middle Way.
In achieving a balance between opposing points of view, the Middle Way teaches us that there is no compromise. Instead, there is a creative catalyst for new solutions, opportunities, and possibilities to prevail for all involved.
In this present day and age, consider that Jung’s conceptual framework is more relevant now than ever. Humanity appears deeply divided into opposing points of view. The Covid pandemic has revealed that unresolved polarised thinking is the virus of the mind spreading faster than fake news.
Societies are being torn apart by diametrically opposed thinking and either-or options. The Middle Way as AND (as in never-anding possibilities) offers every one of us an effective strategy to reconcile the seemingly discrete polarities into a cohesive unifying loving force for change.
Philosophers call this Concrescence.
Neuroscientists call this Cognitive Flexibility.
Join me for a dynamic, empowering webinar to embody the power of the Middle Way through Cognitive Flexibility. This webinar will help you with your health, relationships, work, finances, and coping with the ongoing divisive rhetoric perpetuated through the global pandemic.
Holding the tension of the opposites has been how I have successfully navigated through many of life’s challenging circumstances with abiding integrity.
Join Melissa Joy for this webinar to discover how and why Cognitive Flexibility can be a life-evolving game changer for you in every way.
ABOUT THIS WEBINAR:
Cognitive Flexibility is a skill that enables us to hold numerous perspectives simultaneously, switch between different ideas quickly, and adapt our behaviors and actions to achieve goals in new or dynamic environments. The ability to change plans or strategies for optimal decision-making is crucial for success in any endeavor.
Cognitive Flexibility allows us to recognize that what we are doing is not leading to joy, happiness, abundance, or success. We then intentionally make relevant changes to modify our results.
If you don’t like what is happening in your life, career, relationships, and body, a little more Cognitive Flexibility may be what you need to change your experience.
Neuroscience research has demonstrated that Cognitive Flexibility is associated with higher resilience to adverse life events and correlates to a better quality of life. Emotional and social cognition improves with Cognitive Flexibility: studies have linked the ability to understand the emotions, thoughts, and intentions of others to Cognitive Flexibility.
